Scout Program Changes End of Term 2

Hi Everyone,
Scouts are well on the way to completing the requirements for their Pioneer Badges, but there is still some work to go.
We should have most of this completed on the 18th Jun, with a make up Water Safety activity in Term 3 combining with 1st Research.

Some news from Eltham High School:
Flag Monitor: Congratulations to Nathan Sowden (Year7, Rutter House) who has been selected to be the Flag Monitor for 2012. He will be supported by Nathan Jetson (Year 8, Stewart House). This is a very important role governed by some very strict protocols. We will be relying heavily on the boys’ knowledge of these to support us throughout the year. Well done! Vincent Sicari Principal

Well Done to both for this wonderful opportunity for responsibility and leadership.

Troop Council met and we planned Term 3 and 4. I need to make some small changes to incorporate another Rover Activity and will have that out shortly.
As I am trialling the best ways to get info to you, please let me know if you would prefer email / notices / SMS reminders in part or all three.
These notices as well as photos etc are uploaded to .

I have had to change the Indoor Rock Climbing end of term activity, to Skaterz as the IDR was heavily booked.
So the remainder of term looks like this:

11th Jun 2012 Queen’s Birthday - No Scouts
18th Jun 2012 Outstanding Badgework / Games / Patrol Leader Swap (PL’s Swap with Leaders for the night) Hawk
Tues 26th Jun 2012 Skaterz - Roller Skating Eltham

Notice handed out on Monday:

When: Tuesday 26th June 2012

Finally:
Our Rover Crew is attending Mudbash again this year.
There will be an open day on Sunday 10th June and everyone is invited.
Families will be able to see what rovering is about with the added excitement of driving a Mudbash Buggy around the course with a sausage sizzle put on by the crew.
Please email Llewellyn Phillips (black.mongoose@gmail.com) indicating your intent to attend or for more information.

Thanks,

Scott Matthews

Last night, 23rd April, we had the pleasure of presenting Nathan with his awards.  He received 50 nights under canvas, 100km Walkabout badge, Adventurer Campcraft, Adventurer Badge, Green Cord and Australian Scout Medallion (presented by Peter Rutley OAM, RC Plenty Valley Region)

It was a great night for all of those attending to celebrate Nathan’s wonderful Achievement.

Well Done!

I will post some more photos of the night as they come to hand.

Scott.
